I've just finished reading The Winter Guest...it was a bit sad, but I thought there were some funny parts too...especially the two boys Tom and Sam. Sharman Macdonald has this very bare-bones way of writing, very straight-forward and simple. Easy to read definitely... and I find she has this fascination with beaches and the ocean. She claimed the play was kinda plotless, but I thought I could feel some sort of movement... not much, since it's really slow moving, but still some movement. And the nice thing about watching the movie trailer first helps me to imagine how it's gonna be like in my mind's eye on stage or on film.
